Distinction between Crime and Sin.

Crime and Sin.

1. Crime is a legal concept whereas in is a moral concept.

2. Crime is defined by civil codes whereas sin is defined by God.

3. Sin is an offence according to the laws of the religion whereas crime is an offence according to the laws of the land

4. Crime is breaking established social and legal rules whereas sin is going against humanity and moral code of conduct.

5. Sin is an act that violates religious doctrine whereas crime is an act that violates our government's doctrine.

6. A crime is defined by people and sin by God. By committing a crime, is to assume that the person's morality is questionable. So, I'm not so sure that one can commit a crime without sinning.

Examples are as follows:

A.    To tell lie is Sin but to tell lie in Court is Crime.
B.     To tell lie to save life of a person might be a crime in court but not a sin.
C.     Every sin is not a crime but every crime is sin. For example- in Islamic laws watching movie and to listening music are sins, but it is not a crime to the made law.
